2016 World Pilot Gig Champs
We’ve just returned from the 2016 World Pilot Gig Championships, all our crews have done brilliantly, this is the first time in many years we’ve achieved both our Ladies and Men’s A crews in the final. Our Ladies final position was 8th and Men 6th both rowed in our new gig SPURR (2015)
In total we took 3 ladies crews, 2 mens, 2 ladies vets and 1 supervets crew over to Scilly – as we only had 2 men’s crews for the main races we were able to loan our gig Messack to a local gig club; Helford River Gig Rowing Club, I’m very happy to report they did splendidly too!
So far our gig Royal has returned from the Scillies we are awaiting the return of Messack and Spurr towards the end of May via the Scillonian.
